Personal profile

Biography

Originally completing my studies with a Master of Professional Engineering in Mechanical Engineering at UWA, I started my career in the oil and gas industry working as a static mechanical engineer and then a reliability engineer. My next career change took me further into reliability engieering in the mining industry where I could explore my interest in root cause analysis. Growing up in Kalgoorlie I noticed the effect of abandoned mines across the landscape and after my early work I took the opportunity to start a PhD in mine site rehabilitation at UWA to help with the project. My research focuses on erosion formation in mine pit rehabilitation with the goal of bridging gaps between hydrology and mechanical engineering to improve rehabilitation outcomes and restoration equipment design.
