Network structures are ubiquitous in many real-world systems and are used to describe a diverse set of phenomena such as disease spread, social polarisation, contagion and neural pathways. I am primarily interested in dynamical networks, and in particular the relationship between the structure of a network and its role in affecting dynamics that may occur on top of that topology. I have also previously worked in the fields of embedding theory and nonlinear time series analysis, and am also interested in understanding how techniques from these disciplines maybe used to tackle problems in networks with edges of arbitrary order (hypergraphs).
I completed an MPE in Mechanical and Engineering from UWA in 2020. I subsequently received Robert and Maude Gledden Scholarship, and A.F. Pillow award to complete a PhD in Applied Mathematics focusing on embedding theory and dynamical networks at UWA in 2024. I am currently a postdoctoral research officer with the Malaria Atlas Project, situated at The Kids Research Institute Australia where my work is focused on constructing spatiotemporal models of insecticide treated net (ITN) distribution and use within the African continent, and measuring its impact in reducing malaria burden. I am also a casual lecturer with the Complex Systems Group where I have taught topics in Mathematical Methods (MATH1721), and Dynamical Systems (MATH4021).
My research lies in the intersection between dynamical systems and complex systems, with a particular focus on the study of network structures. Some topics of interest include
