Ellie Moir

Ellie is a proud Nyoongar woman, born in Esperance on Wudjari Country, with family connections to Minang Nyoongar Country in the Albany region. Ellie holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychological Science) and a Master of Social Work from the University of Western Australia, and she is currently completing her PhD exploring Connection to Country and Social and Emotional Wellbeing for Aboriginal Peoples.

Ellie is a qualified social worker, researcher, educator, and community leader with extensive experience across education, child and family services, disability, mental health, and community development. Ellie's professional background includes roles as being a School Social Worker, Therapeutic Specialist, Case Manager, Lecturer, Project Manager, Project Officer, and NDIS Specialist Support Coordinator. Across these roles, Ellie has worked alongside children, young people, families, and communities to strengthen wellbeing, improve social outcomes, and create culturally safe and trauma-informed systems of support.

Ellis is passionate about improving outcomes for Aboriginal communities, children, young people, and people with disability through support, advocacy, research, education, and systems change. Alongside Ellie's professional work, Ellie holds several leadership and advisory positions across government and community sectors, including disability, justice, and health advisory bodies, where Ellie contributes to policy reform, inclusion, and community-led change.

Ellie's work is grounded in cultural knowledge, relational practice, social justice, and a commitment to empowering individuals and communities to thrive.
