Biography
She was Convenor of the Third International Symposium for Innovation in Rural Education (February 2013).
Her excellence in teaching has been recognised with two Excellence in Teaching Awards (2009, 2002); Nomination for Excellence in Supervision (2012, 2010)and Outstanding Contribution for Student learning (2012).
She teaches on-shore and within the Transnational Program operating in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
Her service to the discipline of rural education was acknowledged through the award for Outstanding Professional Service Award Professional Teaching Council of Western Australia (PTCWA) by the Society for the Provision of Education in Rural Australia (SPERA) 2012
Previously, she has worked as a Secondary English Teacher, TAFE Lecturer and Research Consultant.
Her PhD on the topic of the Quality of Worklife of Rural and Remote Teachers in Western Australia, was completed in 2008 while juggling the role of mothering two children.
