Research

Dorinda 't Hart is a Research Associate for the ARC project 'Social Practices of oral health in Australian preschool children.' This project aims to shift the focus from individual oral health practices to the social, by investigating the relationship between individuals and the social structures they inhabit.  Social practices offer an innovative way to better understand what happens in families in the context of oral health.

Dorinda's PhD research project is titled 'Post-Abortion Narratives shared by Perth women.' This project examined the exercise of agency of autonomous women towards an abortion decision. The focus of this project was on the interplay between the social setting and the decision making process. Her previous research has analysed salient discourse within online abortion narratives.
