Dien Bui held the position of Deputy Head in The Department of Quality Assurance for General Education at The Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences. She also serves as the Managing Editor of Vietnam Journal of Educational Sciences. Dien has been a leader and coordinator for many projects in Vietnam, collaborating with The Vietnamese Government, World Bank, UNESCO, UNICEF, IDRC, CRS and others. Her body of work and publications primarily center around skills education, pedagogy, assessment, evaluation and teacher education. Besides, she is also known for her writing for children. She received the Vietnam National Award for the best book for children in 2023. She has been a recipient of some governmental scholarships, including the Indian Technicall and Economic Cooperation Scholarship from the Indian Government (2016), The Australian Awards- Edeavour Scholarships and Fellowships from the Government of Australia (2018) and The Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship (2024).
