Dawit Kumilachew Yimenu is a Pharmacist by profession. He completed his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia in 2015, and his MSc in 2018 from Jimma University, Ethiopia. He has been working as an assistant lecturer, lecturer, and assistant professor of Pharmacy for more than six years at the University of Gondar. During his time at the University of Gondar, Dawit has actively participated in many academic and extracurricular activities including curriculum development, human research ethics committee, student supervision, community service, and engagement activities. Besides, he has also a very good experience in academic research and publications. Most of his previous work focuses on medicine use evaluation and pharmacy practice.

Currently, Dawit is a full-time Ph.D. student at the University of Western Australia since March 2022. His Ph.D. project focuses on identifying the personal and sociocultural barriers to medicine use in older adults in Australia. Dawit is a recipient of the 2022 University of Western Australia international fee scholarship and University postgraduate award.
