Biography

Dawit Kumilachew Yimenu is a Pharmacist by profession. He completed his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia in 2015, and his MSc in 2018 from Jimma University, Ethiopia. Dawit has worked as an assistant lecturer, lecturer, and assistant professor of Pharmacy for more than six years at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. During his time at the University of Gondar, Dawit has also actively participated in many academic and extracurricular activities including curriculum development, human research ethics committee, research supervision, community service, and engagement activities. His primary research interest includes medicines use evaluation, medicines use optimisation, and pharmacy practice.

Dawit is a recipient of the 2022 University of Western Australia international fee scholarship and University postgraduate award. His Ph.D. project focuses on optimising medicines use in older adults through identifying healthcare system-related factors.
