Biography

My research interest is in quantifying the habitat complexity of coral communities and how that shapes fish communities in coral reef systems.

Using multiple different methods - fieldwork, statistical analyses and modelling - I am investigating the multitude of methods used to quantify habitat complexity, ranging from traditional marine field measures to advanced photogrammetric techniques. I'm interested to understand the redundancies and complementarities of different habitat complexity metrics, and how existing metrics may translate to measuring shelter provided by coral communities to reef-associated creatures like fish.
