Biography

Professor Dao-Yi Yu, works within the UWA Medical School’s Centre for Ophthalmology and Visual Science and is head of the Lions Eye Institute’s Physiology and Pharmacology group. He has had continued support from the NHMRC for more than 25 years, and has enjoyed long-term collaborations with leading universities and instrument and pharmaceutical companies over a long period. Professor Yu was acknowledged in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 2019 for his contributions to eye research, including leading development of the XEN® Gel Stent Surgery System that has revolutionised the treatment of glaucoma globally.
