Biography

Biographaphy
Bachelor of Science (First-Class Honours) at the University of Western Australia (UWA) / Double Major in Anatomy & Human Biology and Physiology - 2017 - 2020
PhD at the University of Western Australia (UWA) / Human Sciences - March 2021 - Sep 2025

Research
Danielle's Phd was supported by prestigious scholarships and awards including Research Training Program by the Australian Government, National Breast Cancer Foundation travel award, and BioZone by UWA. This allowed multiple international collaborative projects. Danielle was a part of characterizing a novel paradigm in metastasis, the Adherent-To-Suspension transition (AST) and spent time at National University of Singapore learning how to utilize block-co-polymer micelle lithography (BCMN) to modify ligand spacing at the nano level. At the University of Western Australia, Danielle also developed a fragmented granular GelMA hydrogel that enabled greater biomimicry of interstitial spaces present in native tissues.

Current Research Interests:

  • Cellular plasticity and mechanosensation
  • Development of biomimetic biomaterials
  • 3D visualisation and characterisation of cells
