Biography

Dr. Danielle Rudler is a postdoctoral scientist and Zac Pearson Legacy Fellow studying mitochondrial biology at the University of Western Australia and the Telethon Kids Institute. Dr. Rudler completed her PhD in 2022 at the University of Western Australia focusing on the gene expression of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA.

Currently, Dr. Rudler works across multiple disciplines, one of which is working with patients to understand how mitochondrial mutations can lead to disease, and second is how synthetic biology applications in mitochondria can revolutionize the australian bioeconomy. Dr. Rudler is also passionate about science communication and is involved several outreach initiatives to engage the general public and school students in scientific research.
