Biography

Colm brings extensive professional engineering experience to support the NGCF’s operations. He has directly worked as a geotechnical engineer for leading global consultancies based out of Western Australia and New Zealand, and as a Civil Engineer for leading contractors in Ireland. He has worked on complex geotechnical projects for Australian clients such as the Department of Defence, the Public Transport Authority WA, Main Roads WA, Water Corporation WA, Power and Water Corporation NT, Rio Tinto (Iron Ore and Dampier Salt), Pilbara Ports Authority, Gold Fields, Talison Lithium and Aqwest.

Colm was awarded a PhD in Offshore Geotechnical Engineering from UWA in early 2016. He returned to UWA in mid-2019 with a focus towards managing commercially funded research projects at the NGCF. His substantive role is now deputy director of the NGCF.
