Biography

I am a PhD student with interests in environmental, land use, and agricultural economics. My PhD research explores opportunities for water conservation by examining public preferences for alternative urban park designs. This work involves revealed and stated preference valuation methods and cost-benefit analyses. For Perth and other regions that are under climate change threats of heightened water scarcity, this research will assist policy makers in developing a framework for optimizing public open space development, and may have cost-saving implications for local governments.

I completed a Master of Science in Agricultural and Resource Economics in 2017 at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. My thesis explored the potential development of future energy systems in the province with a land use change model based on real options analysis. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences, majoring in Environmental Economics and Policy in 2014, also at the University of Alberta. Through my undergraduate Capstone research project I gained exposure to behavioural economics methods by exploring the impact of non-market interventions on paper recycling behaviour.
