Christine is a Registered Nurse with a master’s degree in health science and currently a PhD candidate, nearing completion. She has a wealth of experience in both clinical nursing and nurse education with over 30 years’ experience in cancer nursing focusing on haematology, immunology and paediatric oncology. She has held several senior roles in stem cell/bone marrow transplantation, clinical trials research and nurse education. Christine is passionate about evidenced based practice, improving patient outcomes and has skills in project coordination in clinical trials and education development. She also has a passion for academic integrity in teaching and learning with extensive skills in curriculum development and accreditation, education design, assessment and evaluation, course coordination, writing and developing learning materials for on campus and online delivery. She always advocates for the best student experience and is known for her innovative approach to student learning, promoting student engagement for success.
Her dedication to teaching and learning has seen her receive several awards, including in 2020, the Excellence in Provision of Service Award (Edith Cowan University); in 2021 the Carol Cameron Memorial Scholarship for Commitment in Cancer Nursing Research; and in 2023, she was nominated for the Vice-Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Awards in the Inspirational Individual category (Edith Cowan University).
She has experience with engaging industry stakeholders and is acknowledged for her skills in haematology, teaching and curriculum development and has been an active member of several National Blood Authority (NBA) committees and sub-committees since 2014 including the NBA Education and Training Committee (NEAT) and Patient Blood Management Advisory Committee, current. She has experience in reviewing clinical guidelines, national education programs and being an external consultant for postgraduate courses.
