Personal profile

I have been a student and staff member at UWA for eight years, each of which has been invariably shaped by amazing academic and professional staff. I graduated with first-class honours in European Studies in 2012, and after traveling the world, I returned to UWA as a postgraduate student in 2013. During my postgraduate studies, I was accorded a number of professional development opportunities, including a place in the prestigious Postgraduate Teaching Internship, and presenting my research at an international conference. A small group teaching opportunity brought me to the Business School in 2017, where I began working with international postgraduate students in a unit completely outside my areas of expertise. This work not only pushed me outside of my comfort zone – it also made me aware of just how vital my knowledge of UWA systems and the help of administrative/academic staff had been to my own success. In my capacity as a member of the Student Experience Team at the Business School, I hope to use this knowledge to ensure that each student I encounter gets as much happiness and professional fulfilment out of their time at UWA as much as I did.
