Biography

A performer as well as a scholar, Cecilia Sun holds doctoral degrees in both piano performance and historical musicology from the Eastman School of Music and the University of California, Los Angeles. Before her arrival at UWA in 2016, Cecilia taught at the University of Sydney and the University of California, Irvine. Her disparate areas of research in performance practice and the historical music, and American and British Experimental Music from the 1960s to today is united by an interest in the ways in which music exists in performance.
