Personal profile

Biography

Originally from the UK, I have a BA in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths College and an MA in Migration and Diaspora Studies from SOAS. Since starting my PhD I have tutored in both 1st and 2nd year anthropology courses, as well as some lecturing in the 2nd year course on Refugees, Human Rights, Violence and Fear. I have presented at conferences in Australia, Denmark and Canada and my first sole authored publication entitled: Jumping the Queue? The queue-jumping metaphor in Australian press discourse on asylum seekers is due for publication in the Journal of Sociology this year.
