Carolyn's main areas of interest are: high quality assessment practices, constructively allied to teaching approaches and learning outcomes; and neurodevelopmental disorders and their mental health and learning impacts.
Carolyn's passion for evidence-based, personalised approaches and better outcomes for all students, regardless of their abilities, challenges, gender identity, culture or race, has been a theme throughout her education career. She has both Higher Degree by Research and work experience in educational assessment research in Australia on improving educator assessment capabilities and feedback to students and holds a Master of Education degree, specialising in Educational Assessment and Measurement. Carolyn recently completed her PhD, during which she conducted research on mental health impacts in education, with a focus on Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptomatology.
Carolyn's current role is Assessment Lecturer in the Medical Education Unit at the UWA Medical School.
