Research interests

I am passionate about educational assessment and measurement and my research aims to improve teacher assessment capability, particularly at secondary school level.

Biography

I came to be an educator and researcher with a varied, but useful, careers background including journalism, sub-editing, writing, publication design and production, marketing and business development and project management in several sectors. I later qualified and worked as a secondary school teacher, before completing my MEd in educational assessment and measurement. I am currently a student researcher/PhD candidate with a focus on assessment in education.

My university studies/qualifications include: English, Journalism and German majors (BA & BA Hons degrees - Rhodes University), Pre-clinical Medicine (MBBS degree studies - GKT School of Medicine, King's College London), Mandarin/Putonghua (Certificate in Chinese - Hong Kong University), Postgraduate Certificate in Education in English, Maths, Science (middle/high school), Master of Education (University of Western Australia), PhD - current (Graduate School of Education, University of Western Australia).
