I work across the humanities and social science departments at UWA. My research examines the relationship between technology and subjectivity, with a focus on how algorithmic technologies shape our sense of self and how individuals and groups are made productive through social technologies. My broad interests include the history and philosophy of technology, science and technology studies, and political and social theory.
I am currently working on a series of papers examining how algorithmic technologies (indirectly) impact processes of subjectivation.
I am interested in interdisciplinary collaboration, especially within the areas of philosophy and sociology of technology
In my teaching, I emphasise critical engagement and self-directed learning. I find students are most engaged when they are passionately interested in what they are studying.
