Biography

Gbemisola (Bemi) Soetan is a Lecturer in Management at UWA Business School and obtained her PhD in Management from Monash University. Her research examines the dark side of employee-organisation relationships with a specific focus on how perceptions of exploitation shape employee performance, strategic behaviour, and decision-making at work.

Drawing from her background in human resources and organisational behaviour, Bemi's work also explores how leadership, strategic HR systems, and organisational expectations influence outcomes in different organisational settings, including family-owned enterprises and high-growth firms. She is particularly interested in how these dynamics affect long term organisational effectiveness, employee motivation and wellbeing.
