Dr. Arum Kim is a Lecturer in Korean Studies at the University of Western Australia (UWA), where she coordinates the Korean Studies course.
She previously served as an assistant professor in the Centre of Foreign Language and Culture at BNU-HKBU United International College (UIC) in China. Between 2017 and 2022, she coordinated the Korean language and culture program at UIC, and from 2017 to 2021, she served as the Director of the Centre of Foreign Language and Culture (CFLC). Dr. Kim has held research and teaching positions at various universities and research institutions in Korea, China, and currently Australia.
She has led teaching, research, and various projects at universities and research institutions across Korea, China, and Australia. Her primary research interests include second language acquisition, multimedia language learning, and the effects of individual learner differences on second language acquisition. Recently, her research has focused on AI literacy and the use of AI in language learning. Dr. Kim has published numerous papers in prestigious academic journals and actively presents her research findings at international conferences.
