I am a scientist fascinated by the mechanisms of evolution. Currently, I explore the evolutionary origin of the two sexes. More specifically, I use a species of algae to verify the assumptions of mainstream explanations why it was beneficial for ancient organisms to specialize into males and females. I carry out this project under the supervision of Joseph Tomkins at the University of Western Australia.
Besides doing science, I dance, practise a martial art and sometimes bushwalk. This way I develop my mind and body and keep myself integrated into the local community.
