I am a member of the teaching, learning, and research community at the UWA Business School, and I have been imparting knowledge and expertise in entrepreneurship and managing business since 2014. I teach in the MBA, M. Biotechnology, M. Professional Engineering, M. Oceans Leadership Programs, and the B. Agriculture Program, where I share my academic knowledge and real-world professional business experience with students. Engaging with industry and small innovative firms, students build case studies that help them learn how to learn in the workplace. Students obtain one-on-one experiences in start-up businesses and established companies that innovate and commercialise new products and services.

I worked as a Hotelier/General Manager in international and owner-operated hotels/resorts and private membership clubs for many years. My extensive experience in the hotel and leisure industry across different countries provided a wealth of practical knowledge and business insights I use extensively when communicating with students. I've held Executive Director/Manager roles in the Rooms Division, Marketing, Sales, and Food and Beverage operations, as well as senior management roles in the Administration, Finance and Accounting departments. As a Corporate Executive, I negotiated management contracts with owners and financiers, directed operational personnel divisions and teams developing new assets, and implemented take-over management of acquisitions.

My experience in various countries and academic learning enabled me to understand cultural sensitivity. I’ve worked in Europe, the Asia Pacific (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia), China, Taiwan, and Australia (Melbourne, Sydney, ACT and Perth). I have related experience working with various industries, local government, and regulatory bodies, and held positions as Managing Director/CEO/General Manager in private companies and an ASX-listed company. I have been on Boards/Committees in Executive and Non-Executive roles.
