Biography
Anthony Fortina is an experienced leader and manager and current Deputy Director of the Research Office at the University of Western Australia (UWA), a research intensive university and a member of the Group of Eight Australian universities.
Anthony leads the Research Enterprise portfolio at UWA, which focuses on developing research opportunities through strategic partnerships, collaborations and grant schemes as well as providing services supporting research infrastructure and the commercialisation of research. He is committed to promoting and translating the leading research conducted at UWA and helping to develop Perth and W.A's emerging start-up and innovation ecosystem.
Anthony has worked in the Higher Education sector since 2003, in technology transfer, research support, business development and in legal roles. Prior to that, he worked in various jurisdictions for large multinational companies in managerial and senior in-house legal roles in the mining, industrial gases, industrial products and healthcare sectors.
