Biography
Dr Anna Boggiss is a Health Psychologist and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Rio Tinto Children's Diabetes Centre (a Breakthrough T1D Centre of Excellence) at The Kids Research Institute Australia. Her research focuses on improving how we ask about and support mental health for youth living with Type 1 Diabetes and their families. She has a passion for advocating for psychosocial models of care in physical health settings and leveraging digital and novel techniques for stepped care approaches, ensuring prevention through to targeted and intensive care.
Her current work within pediatric diabetes focuses on implementing routine mental health monitoring, evaluating psychometric tools, intervention development, understanding lived experiences of disordered eating and neurodivergence, and co-designing psychosocial models of care. Recently relocated from New Zealand, she provides research supervision to students and emerging researchers.
Anna completed her PhD in Health Psychology at The University of Auckland, where her research developed self-compassion interventions for adolescents living with Type 1 Diabetes. In addition to her research role, Anna works part-time as a Health Psychologist in private practice where she specialises in providing support to people living with chronic health conditions.
