Biography

Dr Anita Campbell is an early career clinician researcher who holds appointments as an Infectious Diseases Paediatrician at Perth Children's Hospital, Raine Clinician Research Fellow and Deputy Director of Wesfarmers Centre of Vaccines and Infectious Diseases at The Kids Research Institute.

Her research interests include improving the treatments and prevention of childhood sepsis and staphylococcal infections, clinical trial methodology, antimicrobial resistance and immunisations in medically at-risk children.

She has contributed through peer-reviewed publications and presentations on various paediatric infectious diseases topics and national guidelines. Dr Campbell mentors and supervisors' medical students, paediatric trainees and masters and PhD researchers and is driven to advocate for child well-being and improve childhood infection prevention and treatment outcomes. Outside of work Anita enjoys the simple things including spending time with family and friends and the outdoors, exploring beautiful Whadjuk boodja in and around Perth, Western Australia.
