Personal profile

Biography

I teach a range of undergraduate philosophy units at UWA, which include: Aesthetics (PHIL3002), Philosophy of Religion (PHIL2003), and Metaphysics (PHIL3001). With Nin Kirkham, I co-teach Continental Philosophy (PHIL3005).

My philosophical interests are broad. I have published work on thinkers including Friedrich Nietzsche, J.M. Keynes, and Susan Sontag. I have forthcoming work on Stanley Cavell, and works in progress on Louis Armstrong, Howard Hodgkin, Ernest Hemingway and Henry Miller.

I encourage contact from prospective research students. I have supervised Honours dissertations on a wide range of philosophical topics. I am also involved in cross-disciplinary research and am currently co-supervising an Honours project in History, as well as a project that straddles Fine Art and Philosophy.
