Biography
Ana is a PhD candidate in the Cancer Genomics and Epigenetics laboratory and Tranlsational Cancer Pathology laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Mark Cruickshank, A/Prof. Daniela Ulgiati, A/Prof. Kathy Fuller, Prof. Wendy Erber and Dr. Jason Waithman.
Prior to commencing her doctorate studies, Ana trained at Telethon Kids Institute as an honours student in asthma immunology. Following her honours year, she worked as a research assistant for the Telethon Kids Insitiute Cancer Centre researching novel therapies for paediatric acute lymphoblastic leuakemia. Since then, Ana has continued this research in her doctorate studies at the UWA School of Biomedical Sciences. Her current areas of interest are: (1) discovery and exploitation of biomarkers for drug sensitivity and (2) imaging flow cytometry to detect chromosomal abnormalities in paediatric ALL.
