I am a Senior Research Fellow at UWA, within the Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy (CEEP). I am an Australian Research Council (ARC) Early Career Industry Fellow for the project Valuing Australia's surfing resources for sustainable coastal management.

More broadly, my research is dedicated at finding strategies for sustainable management of natural resources, in a way that accounts for human values and needs, as well as environmental protection. My interests range from water and agriculture, to mining and coastal ecosystems. Through 15 years of work as a consultant and academic, I has developed a strong passion for industry-focused research, drawing from multiple fields, including engineering, economics and social sciences.

Originally from Spain, I have lived in six countries, including the USA (Master Thesis at University of California Berkeley) and Tanzania (PhD fieldwork). I hold a PhD in agricultural economics (Australian National University) and B.Sc. and M. Sc. civil and environmental engineering (Barcelona and Paris).

Research Associate (casual)

- Project: Increasing irrigation water productivity in Mozambique, Tanzania and Zimbabwe through on-farm monitoring, adaptive management and agricultural innovation platforms, funded by ACIAR. Key responsibilities include economic analyses to evaluate project impact between inception and conclusion (2013-2017). Evaluation of changes in incomes, crop production and human welfare across economic quantiles (i.e. distribution of project‑derived across the community, from the poorest to the least poor households).
