Biography
Alinda Mondal works as a Programmer/Research Officer for the Accounting and Finance Discipline, and Business School projects associated with the Discipline. He assist the research students and academics with collecting, hosting and distributing data using various computer programming languages.
Roles and responsibilities
In charge of installation, management and retrieval of large databases related to financial research and creating and maintaining data download based web applications and software (http://crd.biz.uwa.edu.au) for the accounting and finance discipline of The Business School of UWA. I role supports the research projects of Academic researchers and honours and PhD students of Business School (mostly in Accounting and Finance discipline).

Analyzing large data matrix for pattern recognition in Biomarkers discovery using standard Machine Learning tools such as WEKA, Tanagra
Developing functions in statistical programming platforms like R to analyze quantitative and qualitative data (including creating custom built functions)
Perform statistical analysis using SPSS
Creating detailed data analysis report for presentation and publication purpose, for general and specialized audience
Application Development:
Creating, maintaining and querying SQL database like MySQL, Oracle and Microsoft Access
Creating user friendly database front ends (e.g. canned query based data mining and data uploading-downloading software engines using Java and JDBC) for network based easy access of data from central database server by clients
Creating data analysis and visualization softwares using JAVA for administrative and research purpose
