Dr. Yang joined the UWA Business School in 2025. He earned his PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2023 and, prior to his appointment at UWA, held a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Auckland. His research focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) and financial markets, ESG, and corporate governance. He has published in leading journals including European Accounting Review, Management Accounting Research, British Accounting Review, Accounting and Business Research, and Finance Research Letters, among others. Alex serves on the editorial board of Corporate Governance: An International Review and acts as an ad hoc reviewer for multiple leading journals, such as the British Accounting Review, Journal of Business Ethics, and Accounting and Finance.
