Biography

Alex Hyungoo Kang is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia Medical School, Rural Clinical School of WA, Australia. He has a private clinic at Bunbury and Busselton Eye Specialists, and works as a Visiting Medical Officer at the WA Country Health Service, Bunbury Day Hospital, and St John of God Bunbury Hospital. He was a faculty member (Clinical Assistant Processor) at Severance Eye Hospital, Yonsei University before moving to Australia in 2024.

He has led multiple government-funded research projects, resulting in over 70 peer-reviewed articles published in international academic journals. He has won numerous awards and been invited to speak at international meetings and conferences, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), and the Asia-Pacific Vitreo-Retina Society (APVRS).
