Alex holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology from UWA and has about 30 years’ experience in the Western Australian resources sector, working in both production and exploration roles across iron ore, gold, base metals, mineral sands, diamonds and some specialty commodities. He has returned to UWA to undertake a PhD on the 4.7 billion tonne Speewah Ti-V Deposit and associated PGE+Au mineralisation – a major Critical Minerals system in the East Kimberley Region of Western Australia where he was involved in the early development phase of the project. His PhD is focused on industry-specific research to determine the petrogenesis and metallogenic significance of the deposit, with the ultimate aim of unlocking prospectivity across the entire Kimberley region.
