Personal profile

Biography

Adam is a social/cultural anthropologist and geographer whose research interests focus on housing, home, sub-cultural politics, and anti-fascist movements. They use a range of methodologies, including assemblage theory, photo-elicitation, photo-walks, and participant observation, to explore how individuals and communities navigate power, identity, and resistance within contemporary socio-political contexts.

Adam is particularly influenced by post-structuralist theory, spatial theory, and the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. Their work often examines the intersection of space, power, and identity, exploring the material and affective dimensions of social life. They are deeply committed to collaborative research, working alongside artists and activists to understand and challenge the exclusionary forces that shape marginalised communities.

In addition to their research, Adam is an enthusiastic educator with a passion for team-based learning, worldbuilding, and social theory. They teach anthropology with an emphasis on fostering critical thinking and collaborative engagement, creating dynamic classroom experiences where students can explore the complexities of human societies through both theoretical and practical lenses. I also prioritise a fun and exclusive learning environment!
