Biography

Dr Jones joined The University of Western Australia as an ARC Center of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (Ozgrav) Postdoctoral Research Associate in 2020. He received an MSci degree in Physics in 2015 and completed his PhD in 2020, both from The University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Industrial relevance

Development of laser beam shaping for communication.

Research interests

Dr Jones research interests centre around techniques for precision metrology. He has experience with both optical clocks and atomic interferometers but is now focused on gravitational wave detection. Specifically, he is interested in control systems, laser beam shaping and numerical modelling.
