Biography

Sidy is a senior geologist with the Geological Survey of Western Australia, specialising in rare earth elements (REE) for the past 15 years. His work with REE began with studying syenitic Nb-Ta-REE deposits in Canada. After moving to Australia, he conducted research on REE detection and characterisation using hyperspectral technologies. He has since investigated REE deposits across Western Australia, with a particular focus on those in the East Kimberley. More recently, he commenced a PhD exploring the often-overlooked REE potential within heavy mineral sands.
