Dr. Enamul Hoque is an experienced health economist in health system economics, economic evaluation and public health specialist with post-graduate degree in Public Health Economics (PhD), health economics (MSc) and public health (MPH). He has twenty years of research and teaching experience in health economics, health care financing, public health and health system strengthening including policy development and analysis, implementation support and performance assessment working in both high income and low-and-middle-income countries. He has developed course curriculum and taught face-to-face and online health economics courses. He has extensive knowledge in health economics methods – before, during and after clinical trial such as value of information, economic evaluation modelling such as decision tree analysis, advanced statistical and epidemiological analysis of primary and secondary data. He has designed and examined economic evaluation of clinical trials, impacts of health shocks on households and related health inequalities using cross sectional and panel household survey data. He has implemented and coordinated large population-based community trial studies and health facility survey.  

Dr. Hoque has worked 8 years in an internationally renowned research organization (icddr,b) as a senior health economist. Dr. Enam has worked for several globally reputed universities like University of Queensland (School of Population Health), Melbourne University (Nossal Institute of Global Health), Sydney University (NHMRC Clinical Trial Centre) in Australia. He served as an adjunct Professor at Bournemouth University in UK. He also held the position of senior health economist at the Agency for Clinical Innovation within NSW Health, Australia. Additinally, Dr. Hoque has provided his expertise as a technical advisor and consultant for numerous international organizations including World Bank, UNFPA, UNAIDS, WHO, Copenhagen Consensus Centre, International Food Policy Research Institute and Engender Health. Over his career he has secured research grant from different donor agencies. He has led and contributed to high-level policy dialogue engagements, technical assistance, knowledge product, applied research activities, capacity building projects and strategic partnership with multiple development partners. He has authored book chapter and numerous peer-reviewed articles in high impact journals. He is on the Editorial Board of Plos One and Frontiers in Public Health journal.
