Biography

Dr. Asif is a Chemical Engineer with expertise in materials engineering, nanotechnology and sustainable technologies. He completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering at Edith Cowan University in 2023, focusing on the development of advanced catalytic oxidation systems for environmental applications. Since then, he is dedicated to advancing critical mineral innovation and sustainability, with a particular emphasis on direct lithium extraction, circular economy practices, and wastewater treatment.

Dr. Asif is actively exploring novel approaches to resource recovery, particularly from industrial waste, to drive the global transition to NetZero. His research focuses on innovative strategies for extracting valuable critical minerals from waste streams, contributing to the development of a resilient and sustainable supply chain for these minerals. By enhancing the efficiency of extraction and recycling processes, his work plays a vital role in advancing decarbonization and resource efficiency on a global scale.

Additionally, he is committed to addressing water quality challenges through advanced wastewater treatment technologies, including adsorption, membrane filtration, and catalytic systems. Through strategic collaborations with both academic and industry partners, he is working towards promoting circular economy principles, with the broader goal of achieving resource efficiency, waste reduction, and energy-environmental nexus solutions.
