Dr. Raquel Scartezini's main research areas focus on teacher education, and the dialogical construction of teachers' and school leaders' professional identities. Her research has promoted an understanding of the complexity of biographical, social and cultural intertwined factors that underlie the teaching profession and teachers' practices. Her current research interest focuses on how global educational policies and programs implemented by national governments are translated into localised contexts and impact school leaders' and teachers' practices and lives. This research line encompasses a range of subthemes, such as educational reforms, educational policies, developing countries and decolonial studies.
