Biography

Background of Paediatric Intensive Care nursing which progressed to Lecturer in undergraduate nursing at ECU for 5 years. I have a Masters in Public Health.

My current role within the School of Medicine is medical educator/ senior lecturer (level C) / MD year 3 unit coordinator (36 point year-long unit within the 4 year MD course).

Completed the Foundations of Tertiary teaching course through the UWA Academy fellowship scheme.

Research Interests: Simulations, I have completed an advanced simulation course.  Virtual reality in medical education for which I won an Alumni grant to develop a paediatric medical education virtual reality software program to teach paediatric advanced life support. https://alumni.uwa.edu.au/peoples-choice-2019

Presented at AMMEE/OTTAWA international conference for medical and other healthcare educators. in Helsinki Finland, (oral presentation) Basel Switzerland (poster presentation) and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia (oral presentation.

Member of the Australasian Collaboration for Clinical Assessment (ACCLAiM) group. ACCLAiM provides the opportunity for Australian and New Zealand Medical Schools to collaborate on clinical assessment, thereby contributing to the development of a national framework for the standard-setting of assessment in medical schools. https://acclaim.edu.au/
