Ms Brown is a passionate young scientist who has extensive experience in studying the complexities of some of the most aggressive and less well characterized cancers. Ms Brown completed a Bachelor of Health Science at UWA (2010), followed by Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) at UWA in 2012 through the School of Pharmacology. She is an established research officer, who is now in her final year of completing her PhD studies in head and neck cancer. Since joining the Laboratory for Cancer Medicine at the Harry Perkins Instutute of Medical Research, under the supervision of Prof Peter Leedman, she has contributed to many projects and published a number of research articles, reviews and a book chapter in the field of cancer biology. Her main project focus is investigating the roles of microRNAs in cancer biology and evaluating their therapeutic potential for treatment of poor-prognostic cancers.
