The UWA Data Institute is a gateway for data intensive industries and government agencies to UWA’s expertise in applied data science and understanding of responsible use of data and data science in industry and our society broadly. Drawing on UWA’s requisite depth of expertise across disciplines and cross-discipline industry sector networks, we create fresh opportunities to address the emerging real-world challenges in transforming a vast volume of diverse types of data into knowledge to support data-driven decisions.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Our work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
