Description of impact

The Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care funded the peak body for pharmacists, Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA), to update the national Professional Practice Standards for pharmacists. The standards set the minimum performance expectations for all pharmacists, regardless of practice settings.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia in the journal, Australian Pharmacist, said the project had several objectives, including being more specific, actionable and measurable – key recommendations of the Enhancing Quality in Pharmacy Practice (EQiPP) Project. These recommendations framed the development work.
