An environmentally friendly concrete is of high interest to develop since the production of Portland cement as the main binder of conventional concrete is associated with generating a large amount of carbon dioxide. As a green and an eligible alternative to conventional concrete, concretes using waste materials and geopolymer concrete have been invented. Materials and Structures Innovation Group at the University of Western Australia has developed several environmentally friendly concretes using local materials which can help cement and concrete industry in Australia and internationally.
