    Description

This transmission electron microscope has been optimised for biological imaging and analysis.

It is equipped with an 11Mpix digital camera capable of recording both images and diffraction data. Element distribution images can be acquired with a Gatan Tridiem energy filter for a wide range of elements, including important biological elements such as C, N, O, P, S, etc., and from fields of view as large as ~12micron.

The microscope can be operated in Scanning TEM (STEM) mode and has both brightfield and darkfield detectors. Electron tomography data (both brightfield and element mapped) can be acquired through automated software control.

    Research technique

    • Brightfield imaging
    • Dark Field Imaging
    • Electron diffraction
    • High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM)
