Description
(a) Low-pass filtered along-shelf component of the wind stress (positive towards the northwest) over the year-long study period. (b) Comparison between the observed and modeled low-pass filtered along-shelf currents during the summer period, averaged over depths between 20–30 m. (c) Comparison of the observed and modeled low-pass filtered along-shelf currents during the spring period. The low-pass filter has a half-power period of 38 h to remove inertial oscillations, and in the case of the field data, the tides [30]. Note that the model results based on Xu et al. [18] do not include tides.
