Course

Description

The exploration of digital design techniques has been at the forefront of design making worldwide. The growth of digital engineering design in China, applying traditional materials such as bamboo is growing considerably. To understand the possibilities of bamboo as a material and contemporary design methodologies, a group of 16 students from UWA will travel to China for two 1/2 weeks. Students will be accommodated for half of the period at UNNC campus and will attend workshops culminating with the development of an installation/exhibition using bamboo generated by traditional and digital methods. Staff involved on this programme are from TU Delf Netherlands, UNNC (China) and UWA.
