Residents claim surf beach will be ruined by second desalination plant

One of the Perth region's best surfing beaches - and a key feeding area for penguins, fish and dolphins - could be ruined by Water Corporation plans for a second desalination plant, residents claim.
The Water Corporation is seeking environmental approval for three sites for a second 45 gigalitre plant but its preferred option is at Port Kennedy, including an intake and outlet pipe at Secret Harbour or Golden Bay.
