Interview with Philip Adams on Radio National (Late Night Live)

Press/Media: Press / Media

Description

Invited interview to promote recently released book, Half the Perfect World. 17 September 2018

Half the perfect world -writers, dreamers and drifters on Hydra ,1955-1964 is a different kind of literary biography. George Johnston and Charmian Clift set up an Australian literary commune on the Greek Island of Hydra in 1955.

The book is lavishly illustrated with photographs originally taken for Life magazine by James Burke. It's a compelling portrayal of an important group of Australians and others who left their country, but the country never quite left them.
