Interview with Anas Ghadouani, Professor of Environmental Engineering, University of Western Australia, to talk about the map

of the hottest suburbs in Perth. Ghadouani says the map that they produced is called the 'heat vulnerability index'. He says the

map also shows some green spots in Perth, which are much cooler areas. He says a number of suburbs in the western area of

Perth have enough green infrastructure to sustain and to respond to heat conditions. He says researchers define heatwave as

'the silent killer'. He says heatwaves are now frequent.
